Special EuroMaintenance 2015 is the newest conference formula simultaneously organized with the national trade fair Maintenance 2015

Posted on

On 31 March, 1 and 2 April 2015 Antwerp Expo will host the first edition of the European maintenance conference Special EuroMaintenance 2015: an initiative of the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS) that continuous along the lines of the well-known EuroMaintenance concept, but will inform the technical-industrial world about a limited number of topics in specialised areas in the field of maintenance, asset management and reliability in odd years. Just like the successful edition in 2008, a partnership is established for the organisation with Belgian Maintenance Association (BEMAS) and trade fair furnisher easyFairs.

EuroMaintenance, the most important biannual European maintenance conference since 1972, first came to Belgium in 2008, organised by the ‘winning trio’ EFNMS, BEMAS and easyFairs. This organising combination made EuroMaintenance 2008 the most successful Maintenance conference in Europe, with over 750 conference participants, over 250 exhibitors on the floor and an evening reception and networking dinner with over 2,000 participants.

The global economy has turned a performant management of the assets for a permanent industrial activity into a strategic subject. A theme with many underlying disciplines that are in constant development. This is why part of the strategy of EFNMS is to alternate the biannual EuroMaintenance conferences in odd years with a more focused maintenance summit that includes a limited number of topics, on the basis of innovative practical cases and best practices in maintenance and production in specialised fields. Antwerp is the first European city to host this new conference formula.

Herman Baets, European Chairman of EFNMS explains: “This Special EuroMaintenance 2015 will take place in the heart of the West-European industry: Antwerp. As the second largest petrochemical hub in the world, Antwerp has enormous industrial activity in the dock area. Antwerp also acts as a junction for European pipelines as well as for European freight and logistics networks, and is also centrally located between the Ruhr Area and the port of Rotterdam with hundreds of industrial establishments and production centres in a variety of sectors.” To give a few examples:

  • Chemical and Petrochemical: BASF, Total, Exxon Mobil, Solvay, Bayer, Evonik , BP, Borealis, Ineos
  • Paper: Sappi, Stora Enso, Sca Hygiene Products, Burgo Ardennes
  • Pharmaceutical industry: Jansen Pharmaceutics, Pfizer, GSK, Baxter, UCB, Capsugel
  • Automotive: Ford, Volvo, Opel, Volkswagen, Valeo Vision, Robert Bosch, DAF Trucks, Bosal
  • Food: Danone, Lipton, Douwe Egberts, Inbev, Barry Callebout, Kraft Food, LU-General Biscuits, Sara Lee, Mondelez
  • Other industries: Arcelor, Ugine & ALZ, Umicore, Bekaert, Corus Aluminium, Holcim, CBR Saint-Gobain

“With Special EuroMaintenance 2015 we want to once again offer the Belgian and European industry a top conference on a global level with the latest insights and top cases on topics such as training & competency management, strategic maintenance research and implementation of a competitive asset management policy”, Wim Vancauwenberghe, director of BEMAS.

Managing Director of easyFairs Benelux, Cornelien Baijens adds: “With its 10th edition, our community Maintenance trade fair has developed into an absolute reference in the Belgian technical-industrial world, and acts as the ideal forum for small and large maintenance providers and top brands in the field of maintenance technology and specialised services and material to present all trends and clever innovations. Due to the simultaneous organisation with Special EuroMaintenance, this jubilee edition of Maintenance 2015 positions itself even more as the preeminent source of information for all technical and operational departments of production, process and infrastructure environments.”
